2007 world champion Casey Stoner is fastest at the first free practice session (FP1) in Qatar, posting a best lap time of 1:57:53. Nicky Hayden, Casey’s Ducati Marlboro teammate posted a best lap time of 1:59.158 and comes in at 15th. Stand by tomorrow for FP2 (Free Practice 2) times and Qualifying times.

The 2009 MotoGP season opens Sunday, April 12 at the Commercialbank Grand Prix of Qatar.
