Casey Stoner fastest in wet warm up

Casey Stoner was keen on the idea of race day rain following Saturday qualifying, and he received a promising sign in warmup for the British Grand Prix. The Australian waited until midway through the twenty-minute session to show his hand, running fast laps in tricky conditions to take the top spot with a 1’39.197 lap.

Jorge Lorenzo was behind the Ducati Marlboro man who he took off the front row yesterday, half a second down on Stoner´s time. Andrea Dovizioso and Nicky Hayden—another rider who would be happy with a wet race- were the only other riders to go round in under 1’40.
